The successful applicant will gain practical on-the-job training and theoretical experience in the overall Commercial Specialist function.
Minimum requirements: • B Degree/Honours in Supply Chain • MCIPS will be an advantage.
Key performance areas: • Learn and understand TPT’s commercial process • Provide commercial leadership to the commodity team that is responsible for the development and implementation of commodity strategies and other initiatives in delivering the procurement savings target • Ensure the continuity and security of supply of the right quality portfolio commodities and services at competitive prices and at minimal contractual risk • Lead supplier negotiations • Design and administration of tender process • Establish supplier contracts • Establish, maintain and administer contracts pertaining to portfolio commodities • Develop portfolio focused supplier industry key economic indicator and cost models.
Knowledge: • Supply management/procurement • Best practice SM processes • Knowledge of systems, especially as enablers of Strategic Sourcing • Technical and operational requirements of a business including capital requirements.
Skills: • Computer literate • Minute writing • Communication (written and verbal) • Telephone etiquette • Numeric.
