Our Compliance function is an independent function, part of governance and assurance division. We provide consultation and support in the following areas: Regulatory expectations, Reputational risk issues, Our position on sanctioned jurisdictions, New business initiatives and acquisitions and Regulatory relationships.
Our function is key, because we ensure that the bank complies with all statutory, supervisory and regulatory requirements, so that we don’t suffer regulatory sanctions and put the bank’s reputation at risk. This is particularly important in the current economic climate, when corporate governance and compliance failures in the global financial services industry have gained a lot of media attention, which has led to a loss of confidence in the free market system.
